Bee Smoker Medium Deluxe 26 cm

This smoker from the Deluxe series is made of stainless steel and has a diameter of 10 cm and a total height of 26 cm. The smoker is neatly finished and made from very robust materials. This model has a fine-mesh protective guard to make the hot parts difficult to touch. In addition, the bellows is made of sturdy yellow (instead of the green in the photo) faux leather. The interior is fitted with a small grate for optimal aeration of the fuel. 

How do you light a smoker?
Start with a good, easily ignitable base. First place a wad of paper/dried leaves/pine needles (and optionally a smoke block) in the smoker and light it to create an open flame, then build it up with the bellows. Gently smother this strong flame with tobacco (or smoker pellets). Keep pumping the bellows well at the start. Smoker pellets in particular need a really good initial fire. Then close the lid and pump regularly to keep the smoker going. Aim to produce generous amounts of cool, white smoke. Avoid blue smoke; it's too hot, can cause irritation, and may singe the bees' wings. The herbal tobacco / smoke blocks are a bit easier for beginning beekeepers.
