Why is sowing flower seeds so important?

The honey bee really appreciates it when you sow flowers for them. They visit the blooms for pollen and nectar. Bees use nectar as a food source, so it is crucial for them that there are enough flowers from which they can collect nectar. The flowers that bloom from these seed mixes attract not only bees but also other beneficial insects such as butterflies.

Different sowing periods

Most bee forage plants are sown in the spring. But there are also plenty of forage plants that can be sown in the summer. You can also plant flower bulbs for bees and insects  . The flowers from flower seeds and bulbs are an important food source in spring. Spring-flowering bulbs are best planted from September to December, preferably before the first night frost, and summer-flowering bulbs are best planted in spring up to the end of May, once the risk of night frost has passed.
