Netherlands: land of milk and honey

Bees are known as hard workers and a frugal community. In earlier times, bees were often found on the logos of savings banks. Nowadays, bees are especially important for the real economy. This book demonstrates that beekeeping forms the foundation for hundreds of millions of euros in revenue in Dutch agriculture. Triple E, as a knowledge center in the field of nature and economics, took the initiative to conduct a study on the economic contribution of beekeeping to the Dutch economy. The figures are fascinating and make clear that an emancipation process is necessary. Beekeeping is an activity that must be passed on to young people. Keeping bees instead of gaming? It could well be a fundamental choice, because we will always continue to produce food. To feed 7 billion mouths worldwide, we will have to work hard, something bees are quite accustomed to.
