Propoleum, 1 liter

Both the outside and the inside should ideally be painted at least 2 times. Propoleum penetrates the wood very quickly, so you can do this all at once.  Start on the inside and then work your way out. When the wood hardly absorbs any more Propoleum, the beehive is saturated and painting can be finished.

Propoleum is a stain that does need maintenance, which means: repaint annually. Why paint the inside of the beehive? Propoleum stain makes it so that condensation barely penetrates the beehive thanks to its water-repellent action. This means the wood absorbs less moisture, which prevents rot, mold, and shrinkage and swelling. As a result, the hive lasts longer and stays looking good. Propoleum is also very suitable for birdhouses, bee hotels, etc.

Tip: after use, let the brush dry. As soon as it is dipped back into the propoleum the brush is usable again.
