What is the advantage of working with a Warré hive?
Beekeeping according to the Warré method has the advantage that the bees build their own comb in the Warré hive, just like in nature. Ideal for when you naturally wants to beekeepers. Beekeeping with Warré further has the advantage that the hive may contain windows that make monitoring development easy, without disturbing the bees. Because little start-up equipment is required, Warré hives are very suitable for beginning beekeepers.
What does a Warré hive consist of?
All Warré hives in our range are made of pine and include standard components such as a bodem, een schuin dak, een isolatierand en een dekplank. Afhankelijk van welke uitvoering je kiest, wordt de Warré kast geleverd in verschillende uitvoeringen. De broedkamers en honingkamers zijn bij de Warré kast gelijk. Een aantal varianten die we aanbieden zijn de ‘Warré bijenkast Easy’, de ‘Warré bijenkast Deluxe’ en onze ‘Warré bijenkast Premium'. It is also possible to provide the sloping roof of the Premium Warré hive with aluminum roofing. Almost all parts of the Warre hive are also sold separately with us, so you can easily reorder them.
What are the dimensions of a Warré hive?
The outside dimension of a Warré hive is 34 x 34 cm. In a broedkamer passen 8 toplatjes. De lengte van deze toplatten is 32 cm. Werk je toch liever met raampjes? Dat kan natuurlijk ook. Voor de Warré kast bestaat een speciale maat raampjes en kunstraat. As with the top slats, 8 windows fit into a Warré brood chamber.
