Miniplus plastic single-frame hive (BiVoPad)

The BiVoPad is an innovation compared to earlier successful mating nucs, with various improvements. The BiVoPad is particularly suitable for use at mating stations, especially because it uses a standard frame size that is already widely used in beekeeping. The ¼ Dadant format is already used in the Mini-Plus hive. When using the plastic frame, this frame can be easily assembled and placed as comb in a hive. It is also very possible to place the frame in a Mini-Plus hive after the queen has been mated.

The use of the BiVoPad in kindergartens and schools deserves special attention. Few children have seen a colony of bees up close, usually only in films. With the BiVoPad, however, children get the chance to experience a small bee colony up close, where the colony is made visible as an organism, from the queen to the worker bees and the drones.

Imagine that during biology lessons about bees, a BiVoPad is available, allowing each child to observe a colony and giving the teacher a basis to make the interconnectedness of bee life visible to the children.

The feeding container has a capacity of approximately 200 ml / 280-300 grams and provides food for the entire mating period. The feeding container can be replaced.
