Rolled beeswax foundation is more supple and less brittle than cast beeswax foundation. That’s why rolled beeswax foundation is also ideal for rolling candles. How do you roll candles?
- Use beeswax sheets at room temperature, or briefly warm them with a hair dryer so the wax becomes soft and pliable.
- Place the wick along a starting edge. The knot in the wick will be the top of the candle.
- At the leading edge of the beeswax sheet, press the wax around the wick so the entire wick is covered.
- Continue rolling the sheet of beeswax foundation around the wick. Gently warm the final edge if needed so it adheres neatly.
By using small strips of beeswax sheet in another color or decorative strips you can also decorate the candle.
