Bee Smoker (Model) Dadant Micro

Stainless steel smoker with a 6 cm diameter and an overall height of 18 cm. Great little smoker (even smaller than the mini smoker) for beginner beekeepers with a small number of colonies. Supplied with a heat guard and quality bellows.

How do you light a smoker?
Start with an easily ignitable base. First place a wad of paper/dried leaves/pine needles (and optionally a smoker block) in the smoker and light it to create an open flame, which you build up with the bellows. Gently smother this strong flame with tobacco (or smoker pellets). At the start, keep pumping well with the bellows. Especially for smoker pellets you need a really good fire first. Then close the lid and pump regularly to keep the smoker going. Aim to produce generous amounts of cool, white smoke. Don’t use blue smoke; it’s too hot, can cause irritation, and can singe the bees’ wings. The herbal tobacco / smoker blocks are a bit easier for beginner beekeepers.
