Bee Gym (bijenfitness)

The Bee Gym is a small ingenious device consisting of two lines and several flaps. These lines and flaps allow the bee to scratch itself. The Bee Gym is placed behind the flight gap on the mesh of the hive/bottom. Bees walking through it will scratch themselves and can also scratch themselves on the flaps. It appears that bees sometimes take an extra lap to scratch themselves. The scratching allows the bees to get rid of varroa and other mites, these fall through the mesh bottom and the bee is rid of them. Watch the video below.
