How do you use the varroa vaporizer?
The varroacleaner or oxalic acid vaporizer is a product used to treat winter bees with oxalic acid against varroa mites by sublimation. Sublimation is a process in which the oxalic acid crystals are converted to vapor by high temperature (250 - 300 degrees). The vapor diffuses into the hive / bee cluster. It is a safe way for the bees.

The treatment is done at a temperature between 2 and 10 degrees and is applied only once in a generation of bees. Preferably in November or December when there is no or little brood, which is very important when controlling varroa mites with oxalic acid.

Application
Place the recommended amount of 1 - 2 grams of oxalic acid in the bowl of the varroa vaporizer. Then slide the board into the hive and connect the device to 12 volts for 2.5 minutes. Then turn off the connection and leave the varroa vaporizer in the hive for another 1 minute.

You can then repeat this process for another hive.

Working safely
The beekeeper is strongly advised to wear a protective mouth mask (half gelaatsmasker) to wear. Also, the beekeeper should absolutely not inhale the fumes! And work in such a way that the fumes blow away from you.

Always use materials with care. If in doubt, consult an experienced beekeeper. Always use protective clothing when necessary and take precautions.
