Which vaporizer should I use?

For treatments with, for example, oxalic acid, a vaporizer can be used. This disperses the oxalic acid as vapor throughout the hive. But it can also be trickled as drops between the frames of the beehive. For the best treatment method, the bijen@wur guide is an excellent reference. When using formic acid you must use a dispenser. With a dispenser, the product can be evaporated in a controlled way.

The Liebig evaporator / Liebig dispenser offers an affordable and effective solution for varroa control using formic acid. The Liebig dispenser can be used safely once filled and can be monitored during evaporation.

The Varrofix vaporizer is an affordable vaporizer and also very time-efficient if you only have a few colonies. After 1.5 minutes the vaporizer reaches the correct temperature. The entire treatment takes a maximum of 15 minutes in total. The mites die within 24 hours. Now also available as a Deluxe set, including battery, charger, and timer.

The Sublimox APF-PLUS vaporizer is one of the more premium vaporizers in our range. This vaporizer maintains the correct temperature throughout the treatment. The Sublimox connects to 230V and is easy to operate. The Sublimox vaporizer is CE certified and comes as a complete set, including a heating element with handle and automatic temperature control, two caps for dispensing oxalic acid, a 3 m cable, and a handy carry case for transport.

The Varrox Eddy vaporizer is also a handy portable vaporizer, suitable for virtually every common hive size. The vaporizer must be placed in the hive entrance, and with a single press of the button it then does the work automatically. Also available as a Deluxe set, including an extra battery.

When using a vaporizer in a polystyrene/EPS (foam) beehive, always place a heat-shielding wooden plate or similar under the vaporizer, which becomes hot.
