Smoker pellets are an excellent fuel for bee smokers; for use in a pipe we recommend herbal tobacco. These pellets are made from plant residues and have the same effect and nearly the same scent as lavender tobacco pellets. The advantage of smoker pellets over tobacco is that they burn for a very long time and therefore generate smoke for a long period. These smoker pellets are made from local plant residues, ORGANIC (organically grown), mainly from the province of Zeeland in the Netherlands.

How do you get the pellets smoking? You can easily get pellets for a smoker going by placing some thinly rolled cardboard or paper in the bottom of the smoker that lights easily. As soon as the cardboard or paper is burning (flames are shooting out of the smoker and it’s good and hot), sprinkle the pellets into the smoker. Use the bellows to stoke the fire to help the smoke flow. You can then work with the smoker in the apiary and bee yard for a long time! Watch out for the flare-up near the hood of your beekeeping jacket. It’s best not to wear the hood while lighting the smoker.

This genuine beekeeper's tobacco is a coarse-cut tobacco, specially suited for use in the smoker or a Dathe pipe. The beekeeper's tobacco contains small pieces of other herbs, which means it is not suitable for human consumption.
