In this project, beekeepers worked together to develop a method to control the varroa mite without treating the colonies. They did this from August 2019 to May 2022 and took part in the National Honey Program 2020–2022. The beekeepers worked with their own resilient colonies at a single apiary without treatment against the varroa mite. The brochure shares their experiences and stories and includes contact details for more information. The aim is for other beekeepers to draw inspiration from this brochure.

Produce organic honey yourself according to SKAL rules? You can! In this information sheet, you’ll learn all about the inspection and procedure to obtain the certificate. Because the certificate also includes inspections, it will not be cost-effective (> € 750) for the small-scale hobby beekeeper to participate, but following the guidelines will of course still ensure that you produce organic honey. Uncertified, though!
